Kept Picks is reader-supported. This page explains, in plain language, how we make money and how that does — and doesn’t — affect what you read here. We publish it to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), and because you deserve to know.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the seller may pay us a commission. You never pay extra — the price is the same whether you use our link or not.
What that means in practice
- We participate in affiliate programs run by companies whose products we review, and by affiliate networks that manage those programs on their behalf.
- When a link is an affiliate link, the merchant sets a cookie in your browser so your purchase can be attributed to us. See our Privacy Policy for how third-party cookies work.
- Commissions vary by merchant. Some of our recommended picks pay us nothing at all — they’re on the site because they’re the right pick, not because they pay.
What it does not mean
- Rankings are not for sale. No company can pay for a placement, a higher position, or a better verdict. We don’t publish sponsored posts disguised as reviews.
- Commissions don’t set our conclusions. Our comparisons are researched and written before we look at what any program pays. If the best product has no affiliate program, it’s still the best product.
- We don’t accept free products in exchange for positive coverage. If a company ever provides access for testing, we say so in the article.
